ISO 20160: Implants for surgery – Metallic materials – Classification of microstructures for alpha+beta titanium alloy bars

Homogenous microstructures are commonly observed according to ISO 643 or ASTM E112. The analysis of the more complex structure of alpha + beta titanium alloy is described by ISO 20160. Selected micrographs are included for comparison. The etching process of titanium alloys involves hazardous chemicals and must be performed by specialized laboratories.
